Filling equipment
The pneumatically controlled filling head AFC is an independent unit designed for operation with a filling machine or an evacuation unit.
The AFC is fully automatic and is used for safe and accurate filling/evacuation of LPG cylinders with centre valves. It is mounted on the machine (e.g. a UFM filling machine) with an automatic suspension unit with a pneumatic cylinder.
The filling head connection is performed in two steps. First, the filling head is lowered and pressed onto the top surface of the cylinder valve. The second step is moving a pin forward, allowing LPG to flow through the filling head and also opening the cylinder valve so that LPG can flow through it.
The filling head disconnection is also performed in two steps. First, moving the pin backwards, stopping the LPG flow through both the filling head and cylinder valve. The second step is the filling head disconnection from the top surface of the cylinder valve.
Benefits
- The AFC filling head can be used for both filling and evacuation of LPG
- Flexible connection features ensure a higher connection rate even for off-centred or angled cylinders and cylinder valves
- Customised nozzle according to the customer’s cylinder specifications ensures a perfect leak-tight connection with the cylinder valve
- Less puffing and higher filling accuracy due to the built-in gas stop valve that is placed significantly closer to the cylinder valve connection point
- Mechanically activated fail-safe opening of the gas stop valve to avoid opening the gas flow if the cylinder valve is not correctly connected to the filling head
- An additional electronically operated filling head connection check sensor to ensure proper leak-free connection during the filling process (optional)
