For a week in November, Luca Scravaglieri left his home in Italy to visit a team of MAKEEN Energy colleagues in Bangladesh. As an experienced area sales manager, he set out to share knowledge about all the equipment we design for gas filling facilities. But it turned out that he could bring home new knowledge too.
Today, Luca Scravaglieri works as an area sales manager in Europe, but before that he was a supervisor for 7 years. In other words, he is used to handle and operate all the equipment you can find on a site that fills liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders. And since he has been trained to train others, he was the perfect match when our team in Bangladesh wanted to upgrade their equipment knowledge.
The agenda for the training session in Bangladesh was all about sharing knowledge – in perfect line with the MAKEEN Energy values. The programme included an exhaustive survey of all our LPG equipment (and without exaggerating, that is a lot!), hands-on use of our quotation system and a visit to an LPG filling site near Dhaka.
Ahasn Jamil, Sales Engineer in Bangladesh, explains what he brought with him from the training:
During the training days, we learned so much about our machines and all the technical details. Luca also introduced us to some new solutions that are in the pipeline, so we are more than ready bring them to our market when the last details are in place.
Even though Luca Scravaglieri brought lots of knowledge and experience with him, he actually ended up bringing home some new learning as well. Both as a supervisor and now as an area sales manager, he has always been operating in Europe.
The training session in Bangladesh was a great opportunity to exchange experiences between 2 totally different markets like Europe and Asia. And in that way, I also learned something from my colleagues in Bangladesh.
